Monthly Meeting - Monday, January 5 at 7:15PM - featuring the Advisory Committee and a vote on the Amendments to the Articles of Incorporation
Please join us for our January Monthly Meeting where our Advisory Committee will be featured and the Amendments to the Articles of Incorporation will be voted on by the AC.  Location: GMU - Arlington Campus room 251, located at 3401 N. Fairfax Drive in Arlington, between Kirkwood Street and Monroe Street on Fairfax Drive. Nearest Metro: 1/2 Block east of the Virginia Square GMU Metro Stop (Orange Line). The building is next to the FDIC.  Arrive early as parking is always a challenge.

CAN Membership Speaker Series - January 13, 2009
To kick off our 2009 Membership Speaker Series we will have a panel featuring some of CAN's chapter leaders answering any and all questions other chapter leaders have. Please stay tuned for more details and join us on the 13th!

CAN Elections - February 9, 2009
Elections will occur at the Monthly Meeting on February 9, 2009 for the positions of President, Treasurer and one Advisory Committee Director.  Candidate applications due by January 23rd.  To be able to vote in these elections, your school must apply to be a member of the Advisory Committee by January 19th.  Additional Election information and the Candidate Application is available here.

Vacant Commissioner Positions
We currently have vacancies for one (1) commissioner in each Soccer and Softball. If you are interested or would like to find out more information please email Chris Maurer.

Events 101

Looking for some guidance in how to promote your events, keys to fund raising events or obtaining grants? Click here to see a summary of Events 101 sessions held earlier this year. Events 101 is a one-of-a-kind workshop for people who plan public festivals, events and other programs. As accessible and informative for new or volunteer event producers as it is to seasoned event professionals, Events101 delivers in-depth educational sessions on the nuts and bolts of community and public event planning.

here to find the latest list of official game viewing locations.  To make changes to your locations, simply log in as an authorized alumni club president or point of contact and go to your chapter page.  If you have questions, please email Bekah Meyerowitz, CAN Secretary/Membership Chair, by selecting "Secretary - Bekah Meyerowitz" on the 'Contact Us' page.  Be sure to include the name of your chapter in the note.

Please join CAN on the third floor of CCSP on Friday, January 9 from to mark the end of another successful flag football season. Specials will last from 8-11PM and a raffle will be held. Cost: For those who paid the tournament fees, this was included. For guests, $25 in advance through this page and at the door.

Call for Subcommittee Chairs: 3rd Annual Mid-Atlantic Business Plan Competition Save the date! May 2, 2009 at Georgetown University Preparations for the 2009 Mid-Atlantic Business Plan Competition are gathering steam – and we invite you to take part in this exciting opportunity to develop young entrepreneurs in the region! This year we are planning significant expansion, both in scope and scale, making this a particularly ambitious effort. The list of targeted schools has been expanded from DC, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Delaware to include NJ and PA. In addition, we plan to have 3 tracks: regional students, professionals/national students and social/environmental innovation. (Details from last year’s competition can be found at www.mabpc.org, which will be updated regularly.) We are recruiting for subcommittee chairs for a number of areas of responsibility, including university outreach, sponsorship, judging, mentoring, operations, and publicity as well as someone to be the webmaster. These are outstanding opportunities to broaden your professional and personal networks, gain regional-scale visibility, nurture aspiring entrepreneurs and give back to your communities. Spots fill up quickly, so we encourage you to respond ASAP!
